There are many things that can be said about Jeremy Hales in terms of his accomplishments and accolades. One could mention his relentless approach to making a difference in his community. One could mention his great career in his tireless service in a Law Enforcement capacity. I'd like to mention more noteworthy qualities. Jeremy is a good man. Jeremy is a good friend. He has a genuine desire to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason — and that sets him apart. He is a friend to those in need, a mentor for those willing to learn, and a truly impactful Emergency Manager in the State of Utah. The impact he has on the community is measured in a much more valuable commodity — handshakes and smiles.

I am proud to support Jeremy Hales in his campaign for Wasatch County Sheriff. Jeremy has served as Liaison Officer on my National Incident Management Team for the past 5 years. During that time he has consistently demonstrated the kind of leadership, judgment and integrity that Wasatch County deserves. As a member of my Command Staff, Jeremy has proven his ability to make sound decisions in complex, high-stress environments where lives and property are at stake. What sets Jeremy apart is his composure under pressure. His steady leadership, clear communication and people-first mindset makes him the person people turn to during stressful times. He understands that effective leadership is not about authority — it's about accountability, teamwork and earning trust through personal action. The communities of Wasatch County will be well served by his experience, character and proven leadership.

I first met Jeremy when he served in the role of School Resource Officer in the county starting in 2004, as I was working as the juvenile probation officer at the time. Since then, I continued to work with Jeremy in differing capacities including working with the Children's Justice Center and while he was training fellow officers in the Crisis Intervention Team program and in the D.A.R.E. program — both as a statewide trainer of D.A.R.E. officers, as the D.A.R.E. officer for the Wasatch County School District, and as a member of the Wasatch/Summit County SWAT team. Jeremy is a man who puts his full energy, focus and attention into each role he serves. He is a man of integrity, energy, and commitment who takes seriously the call to protect and serve the citizens of Wasatch County. Jeremy has the experience, skills, focus, and drive that it will take to lead Wasatch County forward into a safer, brighter, and more productive future.

I had the privilege of working alongside Jeremy Hales for 19 years at the Wasatch County Sheriff's Department. Throughout that time, he consistently demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to doing what is right — even when it wasn't easy. Jeremy treated everyone with fairness and respect and never wavered in his principles. He is a leader the public can trust. I have full confidence in his ability to serve with honesty and lead Wasatch County with integrity as Sheriff.

I've worked with Jeremy in law enforcement for over 20 years. During that time, he's consistently shown the experience, integrity, and dedication needed to serve our county well. I've seen firsthand how effectively he works with others. He collaborates closely with members of the Sheriff's Office and has built strong, lasting relationships with outside agencies. Jeremy is a proven leader with the skills and judgment to lead the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office.

I worked for Wasatch County Sheriff's Office for 20 years then retired because of the poor leadership. I have known Jeremy as a friend, neighbor, co-worker, and supervisor. His top three priorities are his family, faith, and keeping Wasatch County safe. One of his greatest attributes is that he is honest to a fault. When he says he has 25 years of service, that is 25 full-time years of making Wasatch County his top priority. Jeremy has always tried to go above and beyond on anything he does. He will also spend taxpayer money with the taxpayers in mind — not like his own little piggy bank. I know Jeremy wants to make the office accountable to the people and a place where deputies want to be, but will also hold them accountable. It's time for a change and Jeremy is the person that can make that change.
